DMB At It Again

Fan faves Dave Matthews Band will head out on the road for a month-long East Coast tour launching November 30th in East Rutherford, NJ. The tour is in support of the number one album, Away From The World.

Climb on the Caravan with DMB

“Caravan” is the name given to four multi-day festivals where the Dave Matthews Band will perform complete sets each evening, making the events the only place you can see DMB in the U.S. this year.

The first Caravan takes place at Bader Field in Atlantic City June 24-26. In addition to DMB, the weekend in New Jersey will feature a festival-size lineup including David Gray, Ray Lamontagne, The Flaming Lips, O.A.R., Damian Marley, Bassnectar, Dr. Dog, Amos Lee, Thievery Corporation, Michael Franti, Warren Haynes Band, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Guster, Lotus, Rebelution and Bobby Long. Daily lineups have yet to be announced.

There will also be a few “special” moments, such as DMB members Carter Beauford and Stefan Lessard performing separately from the band and Dave Matthews hooking up with Tim Reynolds to deliver an acoustic set.

Into the Fall with DMB

A few months back, the Dave Matthews Band posted the following on their website:

"As we feel the excitement building for this summer, we wanted to let everyone know that after twenty years of consecutive touring, Dave Matthews Band will be taking 2011 off. We feel lucky that our tours are a part of so many people’s lives, and wanted to give everyone as much notice as possible. We’re excited to make this summer one of our best tours yet, and look forward to returning to the road in 2012.”

Well, that time is fast approaching. But rather than just biding their time, DMB has announced a round of fall U.S. dates, giving fans a few more chances to see the group live before they take the year off:

2 Days of Rocky Mountain High

The Mile High Music Festival will be held on the grass soccer fields that surround Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, just nine miles from downtown Denver. Oh yeah, the dates: Aug 14 and 15.

The line-up:

The first day features Jack Johnson and Steve Miller Band topping the lineup. Another Summer, Another Tour: The Dave Matthews Band

These perennial favorites are known for their annual summer-long, nationwide tours featuring lengthy improvisational renditions of their songs accompanied by video and elaborately choreographed lighting. With band members who each have roots in differing genres, including jazz, classical music, soul music, and "Afro-beat", the combination of each member has created a sound which has earned DMB fans from a wide variety of quarters.

Active in a wide variety of social issues from the fight for equality, the environment, education, racial tolerance, and AIDS awareness, DMB consistently sells out the largest arenas on earth.

This year's tour runs into the Fall and of special note to fans would be the Sep 29th show at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock, AR which will opened by none other than Gregg Allman.
